Add a touch of pure enchantment with Mystic Mohair, a hand-dyed deliciously soft blend of kid mohair and silk. This luxurious yarn catches the light with its ethereal halo, transforming ordinary knitting into something magical.

Perfect for shawls, wraps, and scarves that deserve to feel as dreamy as they look.

Here are some tips for gauge when working with Mystic Mohair:

  • On its own, mohair yarn typically knits at 5-7 stitches per inch on US 3 to 8 (3.25–5.0mm) needles. This gives you a drapey fabric with a soft bloom.
  • For a lighter weight fabric, knit at 3-4 stitches per inch on US 8 to 10 (5.0-6.0mm) needles.
  • Held together with a fingering weight yarn, they'll work up to the equivalent of a DK weight, around 5–6 stitches per inch.
  • Held together with a worsted weight yarn, they'll work up to the equivalent of a bulky weight, around 3.5–4.5 stitches per inch.

Always swatch, and always wash and block your swatch the way you plan to wash and block your finished piece before checking gauge. Mohair blooms significantly when washed.

All of Celestial Wool and Fibers' yarn is hand-dyed in Monterey, California.

Please note: Certain colors may bleed, especially dark colors and vibrant ones. Always make a test swatch and block it, if you’re concerned about color bleeding. To help reduce bleeding, block with cold water, use color catching sheets in the water, only use one color, or stay away from high-contrast colorwork.
