Our notes
After making a few of our own projects with this thread, here's what we've found:
Crisp stitch definition: Mercerized cotton never disappoints when it comes to stitch definition, and this is no exception. We love the way the stitches look both knit and crocheted.
Blocks well: Lay flat and reshape any time you need to wash it. Even after the swatches got crumped up in Stephanie's knitting bag, they still blocked flat with no fuss.
Ends may unply themselves: If you have loose dangling ends, it's easy for the plies to split away from each other. We recommend tying a small overhand knot right near the end of the yarn, or a slip knot if you want to take it out later. This will help secure the plies together and greatly reduce any wear that would split the yarn.
Needle and hook material matters: Cotton is a less forgiving material when it comes to tension, and works up best on metal needles and hooks. Wood tools may be too grippy to be comfortable, especially for long periods.
Not as splitty as expected: Because the final ply is a Z-twist, this is perfect as a crochet cotton. It even works well for knitting, and was far less splitty than our swatchers expected it to be. However, newer knitters may find it more splitty than widely available acrylic or wool yarns, simply because it's a plied cotton.
Soft and skin-friendly: This works beautifully for next-to-skin garments for those that prefer cotton, and could even work for baby blankets since it's machine wash/dry.

Please note: Certain colors may bleed, especially dark colors and vibrant ones. Always make a test swatch and block it, if you’re concerned about color bleeding. To help reduce bleeding, block with cold water, use color catching sheets in the water, only use one color, or stay away from high-contrast colorwork.
