Wool Clásica is the flagship yarn of Manos del Uruguay. It's hand-spun from mulesing-free Corriedale wool raised in Uruguay, as a hearty and rustic single-ply yarn. The thick-and-thin variance lends itself well to a rustic texture perfect for chunky outerwear and accessories, while a broad color palette suits all tastes.
All of Manos del Uruguay yarns are hand dyed. The artisans use big kettles heated by wood-fueled boilers, dyeing in small batches creating wonderful colors. The colors of Manos yarns are bright and wild, full of nuances and variations. No two skeins are the same, each one is unique, a testimony of a particular moment.
Due to the small batch hand-dyed process, there may be differences in colors between skeins. Order enough yarn for your project for a better likelihood that skeins will match. Alternate skeins where needed.
Our notes
After making a few of our own projects with this thread, here's what we've found:
Beautiful stitch definition: Whether you're knitting, crocheting, nalbinding, or doing any other yarn craft, this yarn has impressive and clean stitch definition.
Thick and thin: The handspun nature of Wool Clásica leads to some variance in the thickness. This gives it a much more dynamic and interesting texture than many other single-ply yarns.
May be slightly prickly: While Corriedale wool can be next-to-skin soft for some people, those that are sensitive to the prickle factor may want to use this for outerwear and sweaters instead.
Easy to crochet with: The Z-twist means you aren't working against the twist with each stitch, so this works wonderfully for crochet projects.

Please note: Certain colors may bleed, especially dark colors and vibrant ones. Always make a test swatch and block it, if you’re concerned about color bleeding. To help reduce bleeding, block with cold water, use color catching sheets in the water, only use one color, or stay away from high-contrast colorwork.
