The ultra-fine #9 needle is best for extremely delicate work, where detail is important. It comes with a special threader designed to work with the smaller eye. The needle is roughly 4" long and will flex slightly during use due to its finer gauge.

The extra-fine #8 needle favors delicate lace and fine details. It comes with the standard threader, and is roughly 5" long.
